I will be

I have never been anything but helpful
helpful as a molecule or dust when we wait
while our waitress came she tells us we have to pay
since everything a price a temperature
a temperature to take off clothes
your chance: you don’t realize the week
asks you to leave what we are is
incomplete not a tree or a stump more apart
of firewood than anything else

debt to fields

debt to fields like shadows trying to make me know best why
we will always be somewhat distant we know nothing than this sometime hope
other than a love a lust to reach inside a secret inside a speech we find our power
we find your drive home we want to be home before the light falls I am late late late
I will always be a couple behind looking over the train tracks for you to hear me
like a penny from 1947 clinking down a piggy bank — give me some lesson
a chance
when I let you go to get you back again when the pain is fading
I want to get you back
you did not know my intended my tiny smudge of soul

mother smiles at a baby or thinks life couldn’t get better if she were out searching for it. years start to arrive yet she is up to give a speech

she says, I am so darn glad I used my one wish on this I couldn’t be happier than right here and now with all you strangers clapping up at me like I am the last chord at your best twilight. you can remember when you still went to concerts

she says, it’s important to know your limitations and to use them to your advantage when collecting

she says, essential is the moment you recognize what another has and don’t try to take it

dancing with witness

I want to be the last spoken

without luck

every morning this new actress

her dance holding snacks

to mingle             to say

goodbye to treasured youth

why we’re drifting through insides

I took your design by trees

told you to stack the blocks higher

drift when wanting peace

even peace

needs some things

you are broken benches

time to hold             time to taste

desire

desire had time enough

to be less of you

until you start glowing

stop showing

off your flowers

Transcript

Haven’t I told you a million times that I’m sick and tired of you coming here late at night

screaming at my window—I got neighbors! What is it that you want?!

I just want biscuits

I already told you I didn’t go to the market yet and I don’t have any biscuits.

I’ll throw down some rolls

nanna is the greatest person in the world

nanna is the greatest person in the world

nanna is the greatest person in the world

catch em!

They’re just like rolls, they’re bread.

the condition

when the world spins faster we get more into knowing                        or we are more drawn to it

I want to keep dreaming but things actually happen in fast weeks

I can’t stop seeing my age pass             I have time now             I’m a waste

when I can’t see me or live in the moment

how do moments ruin us

how have I become so inarticulate when our conversation becomes smeared

say the things I want              say what do I know             stay to say for

say I’m not much for learning             I’d rather understand

when there are many things to reconcile

with us

or life—mine and others’

don’t stop for the doom of mortal being

people really think there are things you aren’t able for             able to or why

there isn’t much more to living than waking up

facts help everyone grows special secrets let you live without a body            why I feel ungrateful when I think I want to live

more simply

with my flesh

I can dance with you

I have learned this

there is nothing I can’t know but I want to understand breathing

I want to understand how to hold onto my breath
